Scooby at Wolver
Action today, both on the flat and over jumps for Ingmanthorpe horses, but, realistically, we have only one who is likely to get involved in the finish. A decision about Wyatt Earp's participation in the 8.50 at Wolverhampton has yet to be made, after his exertions there yesterday. He will be looked at later in the day, but, at this stage, his appearance this evening has to be considered to be in the balance. Of the other two, Jonathan England takes the ride on So Cheeky in the conditional jockey's handicap at 2.15 at Huntingdon. In our opinion, she is way too high in the handicap, and, if she does feature at all, it will be because of the experience of her pilot. The other runner is Captain Scooby in the 8.20 at Wolverhampton. All Scooby's ten previous wins have come from off his current rating or higher; so he is not out of contention on handicapping, and he has a decent draw in this six furlong event. There have been excuses for the gelding since his third at Kempton four runs ago, and, with Billy Cray in the saddle, Captain Scooby holds an each way chance.
